Why We Support The Mojave Desert Land Trust

We want WKNDR guests to fall immediately in love with all of the beauty, adventure, and serenity that Joshua Tree National Park has to offer just as we did. In fact, it is the uniqueness of the high desert experience that led us to establish the first WKNDR property only one minute from the North Entrance of the Park. In wanting to share our experience with others, we also realize that we need to do our part to help preserve what makes this place so special. That’s why we rejuvenate original homesteads instead of developing new homes that further destroy the desert ecosystem. We don’t build fences to protect the local wildlife and we don’t pour new concrete. By donating 1% of our profits to the Mojave Desert Land Trust, every stay at the WKNDR supports its mission "to protect the Mojave Desert ecosystem and its scenic and cultural resource values."
