What To Bring For Your Stay At A Joshua Tree AirBnB With A Hot Tub

The prime time to visit Joshua Tree National Park is either March through May or October through November because these are the months that offer the most ideal weather for all the outdoor activities that the Park affords. These months are also the most optimal to enhoy hot tubbing and many Joshua Tree vacation rentals feature this amenity, like our WKNDR getaways BOOK NOW which are conveniently located only 10 minutes away from the Joshua Tree National Park entrance. When staying at Joshua Tree AirBnBs with hot tubs, we’d recommend bringing the following to fully and safely enjoy your hot tub experience!

1. Sunscreen

Sunscreen and water are two things you can never have enough of in the desert. We recommend ditching the 30 for 50 SPF because the Mojave sun shows no mercy. We also prefer the sunscreen sticks so that you aren’t rubbing sand and dirt from your hands onto your skin when at the park. The desert can be windy, so spray is not always the best option. If you’re prone to sunburn, we also recommend Sunburnt gel. It’s the only product we’ve used that feels okay to put on and prevents peeling. It’s a life-changer for those who are on the fairer side.

2. Chapstick With SPF

The desert can be windy. When you throw heat and sun into the mix, your lips will be begging for moisture. Make sure to pack lip protection with SPF. Just take care to not leave a stick sitting in the sun as it will melt.

3. Polarized Non-Metal Sunglasses

The desert is very bright and the sun reflects off the light-colored rock. We can’t live without polarized sunglasses. The sun will also heat up thin metal rims quickly and burn your face so plastic or another non-metal material is optimal no matter whether you are in a hot tub or at the park.

4. Portable Handheld Misting Fan

Not just for Disneyland, portable handheld misting fans are a lifesaver especially when lounging in a hot tub or exploring Joshua Tree National Park during the hotter months. When there is no escaping the heat these lightweight travel fans that offer the prefect balance of breeze and misting.

5. Hydro Flask Water Bottle

Nothing is more refreshing on a hot day spent poolside or at Joshua Tree National Park then a cool beverage. That’s why a Hydro Flask water bottle that will keep your beverage cool for up to 24 hours is within our top 5 items to pack when staying at a Joshua Tree AirBnB with a hot tub. This will ensure that each sip of your beverage remains cool and refreshing while you spend your time in the hot tub.

6. Sun Visor

Sun protection is a must for any time spent outside at your Joshua Tree AirBnB with a hot tub. In addition to sunscreen and sunglasses, a visor will also help keep your face safe from UV rays. Make sure to select a visor that has an extended brim to help provide your face with adequate protection, and always make sure to apply sunscreen to your scalp.

7. Portable Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker

While the sounds of the desert are always a great background soundtrack for your time at in your hot tub it’s always nice to have the option to play your preferred beats. That’s why bringing a portable bluetooth speaker that is waterproof is a must.

8. Fun Floats

While it’s possible you Joshua Tree vacation rental will offer fun float options, it is possible that the offerings might be a bit limited. That’s why if you are looking for something in particular when it comes to your hot tub floats it could make sense to bring your own like the below to keep your beverages afloat.

9. Quick Dry Non-Slip Slides

To allow for quick and safe trips between the hot tub and your AirBnB for snack or bathroom breaks, we love these quick dry non-slip slides. Make sure though to keep them cool and unaffected by the extreme desert heat by placing them in shaded spot, like under a towel or in a beach bag when enjoying the hot tub during the day.
